For uncured prepreg and dry-fiber composites, Multiax integrates SoniCut ultrasonic cutting heads into the same machine envelope as the milling spindle. This lets one machine handle both ply trimming and final-shape machining without a second setup. The ultrasonic head delivers clean edges on layups that would tear or distort under a rotary cutter, and switching between cutter and spindle is automatic via the tool changer.
